Practice Areas: Family Law
Attorney Krieger has practiced law in Connecticut for over 30 years. She concentrates on all areas of family law, Her practice includes cases ranging from rapidly resolving mediation matters to arbitration to litigation. It includes highly complex divorces concerning issues such as child custody, child support, alimony, property division, high net worth, complex asset division, and financially sophisticated compensation arrangements. She handles complex and highly contested litigation matters as well as mediation and arbitration. Her approach combines zealous and thorough representation with effective, result oriented negotiation. A key focus is keeping divorce and family law clients informed, educated, and empowered.
Attorney Krieger has served as a Special Master for Family Matters in Connecticut, assisting the court with pre-trials to help resolve high conflict divorce cases. She was also appointed in Connecticut as an Attorney Trial Referee and a Fact Finder in the Superior Court, presiding over trials of litigated cases and issuing rulings and findings of fact after hearing cases from the bench in a quasi-judicial role.
Attorney Krieger is a member of the Fairfield County Bar Association and served on its Board of Directors for many years. She is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Collaborative Divorce Attorneys of Fairfield County. She is licensed to practice in the Courts of Connecticut and New York, as well as the United States District Court and the United States Supreme Court. Prior to practicing law, Attorney Krieger worked as a special education teacher at Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York. In addition to her J.D. in the law, she has a master’s level degree in education, and extensive post master’s study in Special Education. As a long time Commissioner for the Norwalk Housing Authority, she has been especially proud of their work providing educational and economic opportunities for residents. Other volunteer work has included activities with the Bar Association and educational programs for lawyers.
Education
Attorney Krieger received her J.D., cum laude, from Pace University School of Law.
Honors include receiving American Jurisprudence Awards for Excellent Achievement (highest achieving student) in her studies in Family Law, Real Property, Commercial Transactions and Professional Responsibility.
She was also awarded the American Bar Association Award for Best Performance in Courses on Land Use and Local Government Law.
As an undergraduate, she attended Hofstra University on full scholarship, receiving a Bachelor of Arts with high honors and completing a dual major in English and Fine Art. She also earned a Master of Science in Education as a fellowship student at Hofstra University, and studied Special Education at Columbia University.
